IOGKF-USA Growth & Development Program
To promote and develop skilled instructors and quality leadership within the IOGKF-USA with the goal of strengthening, enhancing and growing the organization now and into the future.
In 1978, Sensei Morio Higaonna created the International Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Do Federation to protect and preserve the legacy of Goju Ryu as taught by Sensei Chojun Miyagi. It is with this same purpose that the Growth & Development Committee has been formed.
The Growth & Development Committee is a grass roots group established to provide assistance through scholarship to IOGKF-USA students Nikyu and up. The purpose of this committee is to cultivate and strengthen leadership from within the organization by promoting more attendance to both national and international training events. These scholarships are merit based and awarded after completion of application criteria and selection by the Growth & Development Committee. Funding for this scholarship is provided by IOGKF dojos and individuals around the United States through fundraisers and donations.
